Singalong

Hello, community -

You are invited to join us for a very casual, laidback, a capella singalong at Dewey Hall on Tuesday, April 16, from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Requested donation is $5-10/person to go towards Dewey Hall upkeep and heating costs, with $1-2/person going towards the cost of photocopies.

If you can’t afford to donate this amount, please come anyway!

We will start with rounds/canons/partsongs, and then open things up to requests - ex. folk songs, spirituals, songs from "Rise Up Singing" - with an emphasis on songs that are either easily learned or easily led.

"Good" or trained voices are not required - just an enjoyment of singing with others and having fun. So whether you sing like a nightingale or you "can't carry a tune in a bucket," or anything in between - YOU ARE WELCOME.

  • All are welcome (including kids)
  • Bring a friend or come alone
  • Bring water to drink
  • Masking is optional but recommended (especially if there are a large number of us sitting close together)

RSVPs are requested so that we can both email the songs in advance and make sure we have enough printouts available.

If you're interested, please:

  • RSVP to katemag@hotmail.com no later than Fri. April 12 (but sooner is better)
  • Let us know if you plan to bring additional people
  • Let us know if you prefer to read sheet music (vs. just the lyrics) so we can try to have that option
  • Feel free to share this invite but make sure anyone who plans to come sends their own RSVP
  • If you'd like to teach or lead a (relatively easy) song, please send me the lyrics/link/sheet music in advance if possible so I can make it available to everyone
  • If you can’t RSVP, you are welcome to still show up; just know that we may not be able to provide music/lyrics

We hope to see you there!
