Humble Pie Hullabaloo Pie Baker's Registration

Humble Pie Hullabaloo Baker's Registration

Dear Pie Bakers Extraordinaire;

We are delighted to have you join us in celebrating the craft and art of pie baking at the Humble Pie Hullabaloo! Your contribution of two pies (same recipe for both, please) will help support Dewey Hall and create a memorable community experience. Don your aprons, grab a rolling pin, paring knife, and those secret ingredients, and let the magic begin!

We will be accepting fruit pies, pecan pies, pumpkin pies with traditional rolled dough or crumble crusts. We are asking bakers to provide TWO 9-inch pies made of the same ingredients—one for tasting and one for raffling. Note that cream pies, custard pies, and meat pies will not be accepted. No pies that have raw eggs in them, that require refrigeration, or are not stable at room temperature are accepted. We are not able to return pie plates, so please bake your pie in a dish you do not need returned.

Please bake the day before and give your pie a chance to rest!

Attendees will taste a selection of pies, and have the chance to buy raffle tickets to win pies and other pie and baking related prizes.

There is no cost to register to donate pies to this event, but we still need you to register, so we can include your name, your pie ingredients and your recipe in our displays and digital recipe share booklet. We are unable to accept donations of pies if the registration is not complete by our deadline.

**Bakers who want to attend the event will be offered discounted tickets of $10, which will include tastings, soup, beverages, recipes booklet, and more. You may purchase your ticket here. Please buy it in advance if possible.

To enter, follow the instructions below. Your TWO 9-inch pies must arrive at Dewey Hall between 10 and 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 2. We recommend baking the night before so your pie is completely cooled. Pies will be served and stored at room temperature. To this end no custard, cream, or meat pies please.

Proceeds from Humble Pie Hullabaloo support the operation and preservation of the historic Dewey Hall, a center for culture and community in Sheffield, MA.

Requirements to enter:

Pies:

*We are accepting fruit pies, pecan, pumpkin, and sweet potato pies (no cream pies, no custard pies, no meat pies).

*Entrants must submit two pies with the same ingredients (you may select the best looking pie to remain uncut)

*Any crust is accepted (traditional rolled pastry, gluten free, or crumb crusts)

*Bake your pies in a pie dish that you do not need returned to you

  6. Attend the event and enjoy all the fun!

RECIPE SHARE

We are offering a recipe share this year, so in addition to an ingredients list, we would love to have your recipe to add to our digital pie booklet. To be included in the digital recipe booklet, we need your full registration with recipe and ingredients by Oct 20th. Feel free to use “a dash of this,” “a handful of that,” “to taste,” or other similar measurements if you are an intuitive baker and not a measurer.

Optional Hike:

You are invited to join a pre-Humble Pie Hullabaloo hike at Bartholomew’s Cobble (meet there at 11:45) after you drop off your pies at Dewey Hall.

This event is sponsored by the Mill River General Store.
