About the role:
The Operations Coordinator is responsible for smoothly maintaining day-to-day operations of Dewey Hall and ensuring all events run efficiently and according to established guidelines, including managing staff and working with the Dewey Hall Board of Directors. The position has the potential to evolve as the organization’s programming schedule grows and develops. The position involves occasional weekend and evening hours.
About Dewey Hall:
Established in 1887 in Sheffield, Massachusetts, Dewey Hall offers a range of programming inspired by the cultural, creative, and artistic diversity of the Berkshires with the goal of building community through events that promote active participation and shared experience. Dewey Hall is also available for private event rentals and has an occupancy capacity of 130 people.
Responsibilities:
• Manage Staff/Volunteers (day-to-day operations and special events)
• Serve as a liaison to Board of Directors
• Support program, grants, and sponsorship teams
• Oversee and maintain budget, in coordination with the Board of Directors and Bookkeeper
• Assist as needed in coordinating rentals and events
Required Skills / Abilities:
• Strong organization/communication skills
• Google Workspace applications experience, or similar computer literacy skills
• Calendar and scheduling management
• Square, Venmo, and cash management experience, or ability to learn these systems

About the role:
The Rentals Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all Dewey Hall bookings, including responding to rental inquiries, managing the booking calendar, scheduling site visits, meeting with potential renters, coordinating with vendors and internal staff to ensure smooth operations, setting up table/chairs, managing contracts and payment, and coordinating rental logistics. The position has the potential to evolve as the organization’s programming schedule grows and develops. The position involves weekend and evening hours.

• Coordinate event / rental staffing in conjunction w/ the Operations Coordinator & Events Coordinator
• Manage event listings for website / social media
• Oversee regular and incidental maintenance of the rental space in conjunction w/ the Operations Coordinator
